Bernarding Family | Seattle Family Photographer

I met this family of 5 (including the dog Clevland) on a foggy, grey morning at the arboretum in Seattle.  As much as I love a good sun flare and hazy images, I have to admit that I love the rich, bold colors of an overcast day.  Their 3 year old daughter was to die for and their 16 month old, while a bit somber this day, was on the move and they both kept me on my toes.

Enjoy!

Mine | Seattle Child Photographer

It was a {rare} gloriously sunny fall day in Seattle and I had a session that was cancelled last minute and I was determined not to let the lovely sun go to waste.  I had been to target earlier in the day and bought a sport jacket for my son knowing full well when I bought it that he would hate it but I thought it would look pretty snazzy if he let me take a few photos with him wearing it.  So of course, I bought a lego set too for an adequate bribe.  My kiddo only gave me about 5 minutes with the jacket and only about 20 minutes total before he was DONE with mommy taking pics.  It was enough.  Sometimes I have to shoot for me or it isn’t as much fun shooting for others.

Ivey Family | Seattle Family Photographer

Am I the only one who swore I would never say things like “I knew you when you were just a little baby?”  Of course, now I say it all the time because the time goes by so fast and all of the sudden the little babies are grown little people.  I have known Pela since she was a little baby.  I met her mom at a moms group when both our kiddos were tiny and we were in the thick of no sleep and feeling completely overwhelmed.  We have stayed in touch and the other thing we have in common outside our kiddos is our love for and taste in music.   The adorable little girl you are about to see is actually named after a band- so you can pretty much tell her parents are music junkies (as am I).

This session is long overdue and I am so happy that I got to document this fleeting moment for their family.  Here you go Jess, here is a tiny piece of your family caught in an enduring way!

Castro Family | Seattle Family Photographer

The forecast for this fall morning called for full sun- but Seattle is temperamental in the fall and when I met the Castro family, it was super cold, windy and foggy.  The sun broke about 40 minutes into our shoot and created the most amazing show for us in the sky and we all warmed up a bit.  I love the misty foggy shots as much as the sun drenched shots.  This is my third time photographing these twin boys and it is so fun to see them grow- check out their last session here.  I can’t wait to do another session at Discovery Park!

Barrick Family | Seattle Family Photography

The leaves are turning, the days are shorter, the air is crisper and the sky is often grey.  Not this beautiful fall day last week!  The sun was glorious and the weather was perfect for a family session at The Arboretum. Enjoy~
