Ashleigh, her husband and her parents were in town all the way from Tennessee visiting her brother and I was lucky enough to take some family photos of the entire gang. I thought it was such a great idea to do family photos while they were all in town! We reserved the last bit of the session for some maternity photos for Ashleigh and her baby girl. Isn’t the momma to be just gorgeous??

There are some things you swear you will never say when you grow up- like I have known you since you were this high. But I have known Jaemi since she was this high (insert hand at about waste high) and I really coudn’t be more proud of who she is and who she is becoming. These photos were taken the evening of her high school graduation and thankfully the rain never showed up. Look out Oregon State- a new gal is coming to town. Now go take the world by the bull horns Jaemi! Be kind along the way. Keep being real. Smile often. Laugh unapologetically. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Listen to your inner voice-it ALWAYS knows best! And remember everyone has a story and until you know their story, try not to judge. I am 42 and still working on that one but wish I had understood it much sooner in life. Love you Jaemi!!!
We had the most glorious sunny day the other day and I have been drooling over this random field of dandelions I drive past daily and decided to pack up the kids for an impromptu photo session. The very next day this field was mowed so I am feeling really lucky we got these when we did. Sennet and I stopped by this field one afternoon about six months ago and you can see those images here and apparently he loves his coyote shirt-oops.
I have been a real estate agent in Seattle since 1997 and I really love that job. I love meeting new people and being a part of one of the biggest life decisions families take- buying a house. When my son was born (I know- totally cliche but oh-so true), I fell in love with capturing my son through my lens (it was a cheap kit lens but I was still hooked) and soaked up everything photography and I am always trying to get better and better. I can honestly say that photography is my first ever “hobby” and I am passionate about it. This session is a marriage of those two things- real estate and photography. Windermere (my real estate company) raises money for its foundation and our office has an annual holiday party and fund-raising auction and this year I donated a session to the fund-raising effort and I am delighted that Cassie and Jeremy bought the session. It is a win-win because the foundation benefited and I got to photograph this gorgeous family on a beautiful fall day! The sun was glorious, their daughter was fun and feisty- what more can you ask for? I love this session- I hope you do too!
The forecast for this fall morning called for full sun- but Seattle is temperamental in the fall and when I met the Castro family, it was super cold, windy and foggy. The sun broke about 40 minutes into our shoot and created the most amazing show for us in the sky and we all warmed up a bit. I love the misty foggy shots as much as the sun drenched shots. This is my third time photographing these twin boys and it is so fun to see them grow- check out their last session here. I can’t wait to do another session at Discovery Park!
